About the role
The Data Engineering Intern role is for someone who likes building the pipes that make data move. You'll help us build the pipelines that move data from our SaaS application into our analytics warehouse, then expose it to the BI tools the rest of the team uses.
This is real infrastructure work. You'll touch SQL, Python, and the orchestration layer.
What you'll do: • Build and maintain ELT pipelines from Postgres into our warehouse • Write transformation logic in dbt • Help design data models that the analytics team queries against • Monitor pipeline health and on-call for warehouse incidents (with a senior backup) • Document data contracts so other teams can self-serve • Pair with the analytics team on harder modeling problems
Stack: • Python for orchestration (Prefect) • PostgreSQL source database • Snowflake warehouse • dbt for transformations
What we're looking for: • Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or Mathematics major • Minimum 3.5 GPA • Real SQL skills (window functions, CTEs, query optimization) • Some Python experience • Class of 2025 or 2026 preferred (we want someone who can take this into a full-time role after)
