About the role
The Community Programs Intern supports our food security and maternal health programs across North Knoxville. You'll do outreach, partner coordination, and grant research.
If you want to see how a small nonprofit actually runs its programs and chases its funding, this role gives you the full view.
What you'll do: • Outreach to potential program participants in food-insecure households • Coordinate with our partner pantries and clinics • Research grant opportunities and help draft applications • Track program participation and outcomes • Help with monthly reporting to our funders • Sit in on quarterly partner meetings
What we're looking for: • Real interest in nonprofit and community health work • Strong written communication for grant work • U.S. work authorization (we accept Citizens, Permanent Residents, and DACA) • Comfort doing outreach to people in difficult circumstances • Available 12 to 15 hours per week
What you'll get: • Real grant writing experience • Direct exposure to nonprofit partner ecosystems • Reference letter from our programs director • A clear answer about whether nonprofit work is for you
